This paper focuses both on measures that value the quality and robustness of product designs, and measures of the value that good product designs create for corporations. We discuss seven different metrics, and describe the calculation process and applicability for each.

For each of these measures, we will provide a bit of history and describe how to put the metric into practice. Where applicable we provide facts and figures on the size of the revenue, profit, market cap, or cost savings potential, and offer our best thoughts on what lies ahead.
