This article describes solutions to the problem of overloaded R&D resources. Tools for estimating resource needs are presented. Ideal capacity loading is also discussed. Research results from GGI�s 2002 Product Development Metrics Survey provide an understanding for the need for more use of resource and capacity planning tools for R&D.
