This article presents results of GGI�s 2004 Product Development Metrics Survey in the area of corporate R&D metrics used in industry. Top corporate metrics currently in use are listed and compared to prior surveys to indicate trends. The rise in use of metrics used to measure R&D as a whole is explained and analyzed, and predictions for developments in the next twenty years are offered.
