T102 - "Linked Metrics Portfolio® Method ... 3 Teams Measuring 1 Strategy"
Product Development Metrics Portfolios: Linked Portfolio Method Seminar, Goldense Group Inc., Norwood, Massachusetts, USA
December 11, 2014 -- [47 Pages]
Description: At GGI's December 2014 Metrics Summit held in Norwood, MA, attendees assembled into THREE teams to apply the Linked Metrics Portfolio Method to create a set of integrated and linked metrics spanning top-to-bottom organization measurement needs for a given R&D strategy.
The four different R&D strategies used at the Summit are: Innovator, Innovator/Extender, Balanced Portfolio, Follower/Extender.
Companies bringing three or more people from a single company form a Company Team. There were NO Company Teams at this Summit. Mixed Teams are formed by individuals from different companies who choose to work together because they share a common R&D strategy in their respective companies. There were THREE Mixed Teams at this Summit.
This document includes the THREE portfolios created by attendees to measure their entire R&D organization including VP-Level R&D measurement, projects, functions, improvement efforts, and corporation-level metrics.
Created by Goldense Group, Inc. in 2002, the Linked Metrics Portfolio® is a natural fit for environments that have many projects, such as marketing, research and development, and laboratories. It enables key metrics from projects, functional and technical organizations, and improvement initiatives to link to the VP level through a roll-up technique to join the aggregate metrics a VP maintains to direct the organization and drive productivity.
The T102 document consists of power point slides generated from this Summit worskhop, and a step-by-step description of the Linked Metrics Portfolio® methodology.
